About the role
Are you an experienced arboricultural consultant looking for more ownership of your projects, while still keeping a strong technical focus?
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with an established multidisciplinary environmental consultancy looking for a Senior Arboricultural Consultant to join its Gateshead team.
You will have the opportunity to lead arboricultural projects, work directly with clients and collaborate with specialists across ecology, landscape and planning. The role
You will manage arboricultural work from survey and assessment through to reporting, recommendations and project delivery.
Your work will include:
• Undertaking and leading arboricultural surveys and assessments
• Preparing tree constraints, impact, mitigation and other technical reports
• Managing projects, budgets, programmes and resources
• Providing practical arboricultural advice to clients and multidisciplinary project teams
• Producing supporting plans using CAD and GIS where required
• Working alongside ecologists, landscape professionals and planners
• Supporting fee proposals and bids
• Reviewing technical work and helping less experienced colleagues develop their skills
What are they looking for?
You will already have good arboricultural consultancy experience and be comfortable taking responsibility for your own projects.
You are likely to have a degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry or a related discipline, alongside a strong understanding of tree identification, physiology, inspection and assessment.
You will also need a good working knowledge of UK arboricultural legislation, standards and best-practice guidance.
Experience of client liaison and producing high-quality technical reports is important. Professional membership of the Arboricultural Association and/or Institute of Chartered Foresters, or working towards this, would be welcomed.
A full UK driving licence is required for site visits.
