About the role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy to appoint a Senior Arboricultural Consultant across its London, Cambridge or Norwich teams.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced arboricultural professional who wants a varied consultancy role combining technical work, client interaction and project delivery across sectors including renewable energy, infrastructure, heritage, commercial, residential and mixed-use development.
The role
You will deliver arboricultural consultancy and advisory services across a broad portfolio of projects, working with clients, contractors, statutory bodies and multidisciplinary teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking tree surveys and preparing reports and plans in line with BS5837:2012
Producing Tree Survey Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements
Supporting projects from early planning and feasibility through to construction
Carrying out arboricultural monitoring and supervision on active sites
Undertaking tree risk assessments and associated management recommendations
Identifying and assessing veteran and ancient tree features
Providing practical arboricultural advice to clients and internal project teams
Supporting quotations and fee proposals
Managing project timescales, budgets and deliverables
Building strong relationships with existing and new clients
Contributing to the development of new arboricultural services and areas of expertise
What we’re looking for
You will have experience in arboricultural consultancy or a related advisory environment and be confident delivering work independently.
You should bring:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry or a related discipline
Strong experience undertaking BS5837 tree surveys
Good technical report writing skills
Knowledge of tree species identification, morphology, management, planning and relevant legislation
Experience managing projects and client relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
Experience using AutoCAD and QGIS would be beneficial, along with tree risk inspection methods such as QTRA, VALID or THREATS.
A Lantra Professional Tree Inspector qualification and previous mentoring or management experience would also be advantageous.
