Senior Sustainability Manager
Brighton & Hove
35 hours per week, with flexible hybrid working (minimum of 3 days in the office)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sustainability Manager to take ownership of an organisation's sustainability strategy and play a key role in embedding sustainability across the wider business. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to shape strategy, drive measurable outcomes and influence commercial decision-making.
With continued growth expected across the sustainability function, there is strong potential for progression into a Head of Sustainability position within 1-2 years.
Key Responsibilities
Own and develop the organisation's sustainability strategy, targets and decarbonisation pathway.
Lead key strategic priorities including carbon reduction, circularity and sustainability leadership.
Translate sustainability strategy into measurable, commercially focused outcomes, delivered to time and budget.
Oversee sustainability resources, consultants, suppliers and strategic partnerships.
Measure, analyse and report environmental performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
Lead the annual sustainability reporting process and key sustainability communications.
Ensure sustainability activities align with relevant legislation, standards, frameworks and industry best practice.
Provide expert guidance, coaching and constructive challenge to colleagues across the organisation.
Work closely with Finance, Marketing, Communications and other teams to embed sustainability into business decisions.
Identify opportunities to connect sustainability initiatives with commercial performance and revenue generation.
Represent the organisation externally through industry groups, partnerships and professional networks.
Support sustainability awareness, learning and capability-building across the business.
Skills & Experience
You will have proven experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies, alongside strong knowledge of carbon accounting, emissions reduction, environmental reporting and sustainability frameworks.
You will have excellent analytical and Excel skills, experience working with sustainability measurement platforms, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, including experience influencing senior leaders and managing external consultants and suppliers.
A relevant sustainability or ESG qualification is desirable, as is experience within events, hospitality, travel or related sectors.
