Senior Ecologist
Location: Hampshire, Surrey or Sussex
Working arrangement: Home-based
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a growing environmental services business with a strong track record across environmental consultancy, land, water, remediation and environmental compliance.
The role would suit an experienced ecologist looking for the flexibility of a home-based position, while continuing to work on a varied portfolio of projects across the South of England.
You'll play an important role in delivering ecological assessments and advice for clients, while also contributing to project delivery, technical work and the continued development of the ecology offering.
What You'll Be Doing
Delivering and managing a range of ecological surveys and assessments
Providing ecological advice to clients across a variety of projects
Supporting and delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and solutions
Preparing technical reports and ecological documentation
Working alongside colleagues across environmental, land, water and remediation disciplines
Supporting junior ecologists and contributing to their professional development
Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
Helping to develop new opportunities and strengthen client relationships
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced ecologist with a strong consultancy background and the ability to work independently.
Ideally, you'll have:
Senior-level ecological consultancy experience
Strong knowledge of UK ecology and relevant legislation
Experience with BNG, ideally including calculations and delivery
FISC Level 4 would be highly desirable
Experience producing high-quality ecological reports
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to deadlines
A full UK driving licence
