About the role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a growing ecology consultancy looking to expand its aquatic ecology capability.
We are keen to hear from aquatic and freshwater ecology professionals from Consultant through to Senior and Principal level who would like to join an established consultancy with a varied workload and the opportunity to help develop its aquatic ecology offering.
The opportunity
Depending on your experience and interests, your role could include a combination of fieldwork, ecological assessment, technical reporting, project management and client liaison.
The team is particularly interested in experience relating to freshwater and aquatic environments, which could include:
• Freshwater ecological surveys and assessments
• Rivers, streams, ponds and wetland habitats
• Aquatic habitat assessment
• Water Framework Directive assessments
• Macroinvertebrate, fish or macrophyte surveys and assessment
• Ecological Impact Assessment
• Water quality and aquatic environmental monitoring
• Biodiversity and habitat assessment
• GIS, data analysis and interpretation
• Technical report writing
• Project management and client liaison
You do not need experience across all of these areas. We are interested in speaking with aquatic ecologists from different technical backgrounds and at different stages of their consultancy careers.
About you
You will ideally have professional experience within aquatic, freshwater or water-related ecology, together with a relevant degree in ecology, freshwater biology, aquatic ecology, environmental science or a related discipline.
For Senior and Principal appointments, experience of managing projects, producing and reviewing technical reports, liaising with clients and regulators, mentoring colleagues or contributing to proposals and business development would be particularly useful.
Location
The consultancy is particularly interested in people based between Manchester and the South Midlands. There may be flexibility around location for candidates with the right experience, so please get in touch even if you are based slightly outside this area.
Why consider the role?
This is an opportunity to join an established ecology consultancy as it continues to invest in and develop its aquatic ecology capability.
For experienced aquatic ecologists, there is scope to take greater ownership of projects, develop your technical specialism, work directly with clients and contribute to the longer-term growth of the aquatic ecology service.
Equally, if you are at Consultant level, you will have the opportunity to develop your experience within a wider ecology team and work alongside more experienced specialists.
Interested?
If you work in aquatic or freshwater ecology and would like to find out more about the consultancy, projects, salary and location options, please contact Vicky at Ocean to Earth Recruitment for a confidential conversation.
