Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with an established consultancy seeking an Energy & Decarbonisation Programme Lead to support the continued growth of its public sector energy and sustainability services.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-impact programmes, working with public sector organisations to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency and deliver long-term environmental and financial benefits.
The Opportunity
You will lead energy and decarbonisation programmes from initial strategy and feasibility through to procurement, implementation and performance monitoring.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and multidisciplinary teams, you will help clients navigate the challenges of delivering Net Zero across buildings, estates and infrastructure.
The position also offers the opportunity to influence business growth, develop client relationships and contribute to new project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of public sector energy and decarbonisation programmes.
Advise clients on low-carbon heating, electrification, renewable energy, building retrofit and energy efficiency.
Translate Net Zero strategies and energy audits into practical, funded delivery programmes.
Manage multidisciplinary project teams, budgets, risks and programme performance.
Develop business cases, procurement strategies and funding proposals.
Build relationships with public sector clients and identify opportunities for future work.
Contribute to tenders, framework opportunities and business development.
Provide strategic and commercial advice to senior decision-makers.
About You
We are keen to hear from professionals who bring a combination of technical knowledge, programme delivery experience and commercial awareness.
Ideally, you will have:
Significant experience in energy, decarbonisation, sustainability or low-carbon infrastructure programmes.
A strong understanding of UK Net Zero policy, public sector funding and procurement.
Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Knowledge of low-carbon technologies, building retrofit or estate-wide decarbonisation.
Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
Experience supporting bids, proposals or business development.
Experience in energy performance contracting, heat networks, building services engineering or financial business case development would be particularly valuable.
